Welcome, people who read this somewhat weekly column about the latest Japanese import games.

Welcome to a week of big releases.

There are too many games.

I can’t hold all these games in my hands.

Please, somebody save me.

Hello, readers.

I present to you, the greatest game ad to have ever graced Famitsu’s fine pages.

Tobidasu! Nyanko Dai Sensou.

It’s a brand new full length trailer for Arc System Works’ upcoming 3DS DBZ game, Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Budouten!

I’m still not sold on how close the camera is to the action, but everything else is looking super slick and wonderfully old school. The game features a host of single player modes, the biggest being the story mode, meant to train you toward taking the fight online.

Extreme Budouten also hots an absurd amount of support characters, many of which deal direct damage.

This is looking like a whole lot of fun.

Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Budouden has been formally announced for the 3DS.

A 2D fighter being developed by none other than Arc System Works (Guilty Gear, BlazBlue), the game will feature over 100 DBZ characters.

That’s a whole lot of rockin’ the dragon right there.

It’s been 10 years since the last 2D DBZ action game, so this is kind of a big deal.

I’m looking forward to seeing how this one pans out.

So uh, yeah.

That’s a thing that’s happening.

Wait, what.

According to an early Famitsu leak, a new Langrisser game will be coming to the Nintendo 3DS this summer. It’ll have elements of cyber punk in it, featuring 10 vs 10 unit battles. Characters will be 3D super deformed.

The story takes place in a land primarily submerged under water, where a young man obtains the holy Excalibur and fights against the empire in order to save a girl. Yay.

Character designs are being handled by Hirosh Kaieda of Gyrozetter fame.

Not sure how I feel about any of this to be honest. Especially without Satoshi Urushihara on board. Seems wrong.

I think I’m mostly just surprised to be writing anything about a NEW Langrisser game in 2015.
