Salutations, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to another rip roaring edition of Go West!, your [maybe] favorite column about Japanese import game releases.

Much to everybody’s collective relief, some games actually came out this week, and they’re pretty rad. We have a creepy, timely, horror game from the folks at NIS, a remake of Monster Hunter’s biggest rival, and a few visual novels that may or may not be your thing.

Anyhow, with the formalities out of the way, let’s get this roller derby started.

Ok, this isn’t a roller derby. That’s a lie. My bad.

God Eater Resurrection spread from this week’s Famitsu.

God Eater Resurrection for the Vita/PS4. A remake of the first game with some new additions and changes.

First up is the new Predator Style. This is connected to your God Eater’s eating mechanic, and allows you to change the way you consume Aragami monsters. You can now eat in mid-air, while slashing, and even eat multiple monsters at once in one giant bite.

Additionally, the game will feature a brand new storyline that bridges the gap between GE and GE2. The last bit of information in this week’s Famitsu reveals that all six GE2 weapons will be present in GE:R. Rad.

The game is currently scheduled for this fall.

Oh, look! It’s the first God Eater TV anime trailer!

Those of you who follow me online know that I quite like God Eater as a franchise. I’ve put tons of hours into the most recent game in the series, Rage Burst, and I’ll definitely be grabbing whatever Project G.E. releases next.

We’ve known for a while that a ufotable produced TV series was coming, and now we have our first real look at it. There are quite a few big names on this, so hopefully it turns out for the best.

As a GE fan, I’m certainly happy with what I’m seeing.

Sword Art Online: Lost Song x God Eater 2: Rage Burst crossover illustration from this past week’s Dengeki Bunko.

A fantastic illustration of Julius from God Eater 2, celebrating the 5th anniversary of the series.

New God Eater 2: Rage Burst trailer?

New trailer.

I quite enjoyed vanilla GE2 even if it was lacking in a lot of ways. GE2:RB looks to fix many of my problems, so I’ll be picking it up on release day.

This new trailer is storycentric, and as usual, it looks and sounds like a good time.

I’m betting the west will see God Eater 2: Rage Burst in English. Hopefully.

This week’s Famitsu featured a cover story celebrating the last 20 years of Playstation. As always, they had developers and artists come in to do tribute illustrations. I’ve divided them into three separate posts.

This set is thirteen through fifteen, and below are the artists for each entry.

13. Minoru Iwamoto (Bandai Namco)

14. Kurumi Kobayashi (Bandai Namco)

15. Hiroyuki Matsuo (5pb.)

God Eater 2 is looking sexy. Need to go and download the new PSP/Vita demo.
